The beginning of July marks one of the most significant moments on the Rotary calendar: the annual Changeover Dinner, where clubs across the globe celebrate the induction of their new leadership teams and welcome the fresh Rotary year.
On 1 July 2026, the Rotary Club of Glenelg officially ushered in the 2026–2027 leadership board. This transitional period is a time of both reflection and forward momentum—celebrating a legacy of local service while setting a clear, dynamic vision for the future.
Setting the Vision: “Create Lasting Impact”
For this new Rotary year, the Glenelg club is rallying behind the powerful message of International President Olayinka “Yinka” Babalola: “Create Lasting Impact.”
Rather than focusing solely on short-term efforts, the incoming board is prioritizing meaningful, sustainable community initiatives that foster deep, generational changes both locally in Glenelg and through international partnerships. It’s a fresh reminder of the organization’s foundational motto: Service Above Self.
Celebrating Recent Successes

The Annual Quiz Night: A major success that raised nearly $1,400 specifically to support St Jude’s Community Meal Program, providing vital nourishment and social connection to individuals facing food insecurity and homelessness.
Epic Day of Service: A massive drive collecting crucial everyday essentials for the Southern Adelaide Domestic Violence Service, directly aiding families navigating profound hardship.
Community Presence: From our affordable, crowd-favorite sausage sizzle at the Glenelg Ice Cream Festival (which raised $2,000 for club initiatives) to supporting the Adelaide Memory Walk & Jog for dementia research, the club remains a visible, active pillar of the local beachside community.
The Path Forward for the New Board
With the official induction complete, the newly minted 2026–2027 Board of Directors is stepping into a year focused on membership growth, youth development, and expanding public image. By combining fellowship with structured, impactful community programs, the club is set to strengthen its ties to Holdfast Bay and beyond.
